The current Hotfooters team is 19 strong with 10 available to run on that day. Overall there were 201 participants.
As our club do not host a XCountry event our participation requires provision of several marshalls on the course. We are therefore hugely grateful to Tina, Martyn, John, Kate, Guy, Lesley and Peter for their support and encouragement on the day.
The two lap course gets ugly shortly after the gun goes and you realise you have (yet again!) started too quickly and there is some tiresome climbing to deal with 764ft, or 233 metres of it. On the second lap I did look up at one point to take in the view of the final long, steep climb littered with colourful running vests on their way to the top.

It is from this high point that you know you have a relatively enjoyable down hill stretch towards the woody trail back to the campsite and finish. This year one of the organisers had mown a swerving finish stretch presumably for a final element of excitement for the participants.....?
STRAVA informs me that my efforts achieved a 691 calorie deficit so this was quickly remedied at the drink and cakes table within a very short time indeed!
