Hay Hotfooters Running Club

Hay Hotfooters made a great start to the Summer XC season at Treworgan, taking on the 4.64-mile course that always seemed to have yet another climb waiting just around the corner.

Full of pent up energy, the initial pace of the pack was fast as we raced out of the farmyard, past the goats and into the hills. Early in the race, there was also a small log to clear, giving everyone a brief taste of steeplechasing while their legs were still fresh.

After all that climbing, the long downhill towards the finish was very welcome, offering the chance for a fast final push—assuming there was anything left in the tank. The real reward came afterwards, in the form of excellent cake. There was also the pleasant surprise of everyone appearing to wear the correct race number - clear evidence of a high perfroming team!

For next time, we need to work on the team photo:  the goal is to have everyone in it and looking, more or less, towards the camera.
